Mardi Gras in the French Quarter 2010!

Soon after New Orleans was established in 1718, Mardi Gras was celebrated in the French Quarter.  By the late 1830s, New Orleans held street pageants of maskers with carriages and horseback to celebrate Mardi Gras.  In 1871, Mardi Gras’s second “Krewe” is formed, the Twelfth Night Reveler’s.  Most Mardi Gras Krewes today developed from local social clubs that sponsor what we now call the “Greatest Free Show on Earth!”  So come on down and celebrate Mardi Gras 2010.

In the French Quarter, the Hotel St. Pierre and Andrew Jackson Hotel are steps from the parade routes, world famous Bourbon Street, and Jackson Square. French Quarter Inns welcomes you to enjoy charming guestrooms located amid centuries-old, landscaped courtyards & wonderful, authentic Creole architecture. We have the best New Orleans French Quarter Hotel – Mardi Gras rates and specials. Easy on-line reservations or call us at 504-524-4401 or 1-800-225-4040!
