Unsung Heroes: The Secret History of Louisiana Rock ’n’ Roll offers an idiosyncratic sampling of great, rare and previously unseen stuff from the golden ages of rhythm and blues, rock ’n’ roll, rockabilly, pop, and soul. Presented by the Louisiana State Museum and the Ponderosa Stomp Foundation, the yearlong exhibit was co-curated by Dr. Ira “Dr. Ike” Padnos, the New Orleans physician who founded the Ponderosa Stomp music festival in 2001.
